You’ve been carrying so much for so long.
Louise Barr Counselling offers compassionate support for deep-thinking adults navigating overwhelm, identity shifts, and the pressure of always being the strong one.
A safe, calm space to explore your experiences and foster a deeper sense of your true self.
My approach is pluralistic and trauma‑informed, shaped around what you need rather than a single method. We’ll move at your pace, with space for whatever you’re carrying, in confidential, ethical, BACP‑aligned support.
Who I help
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable adults who have been carrying a lot for a long time. You might be navigating emotional intensity, overwhelm, or burnout, often while appearing high‑functioning on the outside. Some people come to me while exploring late‑recognised ADHD traits — noticing masking, pressure, or long‑standing coping patterns, including alcohol. Others are moving through identity shifts, relationship strain, or the quiet sense that something in their inner world needs attention. If you’re tired of holding everything together alone, this is a space where things can finally make sense.
Ways we can work together
Our work can take different shapes depending on what you need — whether you’re exploring who you are becoming, untangling long-held patterns, or finding steadiness through nature-based sessions. These pathways offer different ways into the same intention: helping you feel more grounded, clear, and connected to yourself.

A Little About Me
I'm Louise — a BACP registered counsellor who works pluralistically, which means I'm not fitting you into a model. I'm trying to understand your particular way of being
I focus on understanding how life feels from your side, and we move at a pace that feels manageable. My work is grounded in warmth, curiosity, and trauma‑informed care, drawing from humanistic and existential influences. No pressure, no performance — just a steady, collaborative space to explore what’s going on for you.
I am here to help you harmonize every side of yourself—from the parts that feel burnt out to those ready to flourish. We move at your speed to establish clarity.
BACP registered and WPA approved provider.
What to expect
Getting in touch is the hardest part. Once you do, the process is simple and human.
Step 1 — Reach out. Email, call or WhatsApp at any time. There's no wrong way to start the conversation.
Step 2 — Free introductory call. We spend 20 minutes on the phone or video. You can ask anything. I'll ask a little about what's bringing you to therapy. Neither of us is committing to anything — it's just a conversation to see if working together feels right.
Step 3 — First session. If it feels like a good fit, we book our first 50-minute session. We'll move at your pace from the very beginning.
There's no assessment, no questionnaire, no pressure to have everything figured out before you arrive. You just need to show up as you are.
