Frequently Asked Questions

Beginning the right therapy is a vital step toward finding balance. Below are common queries regarding how we might work, the session rhythms, and starting a nature-inspired path toward deeper clarity and self-discovery.

Discovery Call

What can I expect from our discovery call?

During our 20–30 minute initial call, we will discuss what brings you to seek therapy, your personal goals, and if our partnership feels right. There is no obligation to disclose everything immediately. You are welcome to ask about my methodology, logistics, or future steps. Together, we will determine if moving forward into a therapeutic relationship aligns with your needs and current journey.

Where and how do sessions take place?

I work across several settings to suit your needs:

Walk-and-Talk: Held outdoors in the rhythmic landscape of Bromley, Petts Wood, and Chislehurst.
In-Person: Held in the calm space of Bickley.
Online: Video sessions available UK-wide for those navigating identity shifts or burnout from the comfort of their own space.
Frequency: We usually meet weekly at the same time to build a therapeutic container, with flexibility to adjust later.

What are your fees?

Walk-and-Talk sessions are £95, in-person sessions are £80 and online sessions are £70 for 50 minutes. Payment is made by bank transfer, and I’ll share the details with you when we confirm your first session. If a session is cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, the full fee will be due. I understand that unexpected situations can arise, and we can talk together if something prevents your attendance.

How can I get in touch to start?

I invite you to reach out when you feel ready. You can call or message me at 07710 576315, connect via WhatsApp, or email lbarr.therapy@outlook.com. I look forward to beginning our conversation.

What can I expect in our first session?

Our initial meeting serves as a soft landing where you can simply breathe. We proceed at a rhythm that feels secure for you, focusing on your reasons for seeking support today. You are never required to disclose more than you are prepared to handle. This hour is an invitation to start our dialogue and see how we can walk toward restoration together.

Confidentiality

Your sessions provide a private sanctuary where you can speak with complete honesty, assured that your personal information is protected with high professional care. Following ethical standards, there are clear limits to secrecy concerning severe risk to yourself or others, legal obligations, or safeguarding. If a situation necessitates sharing, I aim to discuss this with you first to uphold our bond of trust. My focus remains your safety as we navigate this process.
