Ever feel at the edge of things or On- edge?

Chicory growing in Jubilee Park Petts Wood

I spotted this chicory this morning in Jubilee Country Park, Petts Wood.

Sometimes life can feel like everyone else was handed a map — they seem to know what they’re doing, where they’re going, how to belong, how to make life make sense — while you’re left navigating the edges. Those edge‑places can feel marginal, overlooked, or rough underfoot, like the hard path in this photo. And yet, so often, that’s where real flourishing begins.

Like chicory growing wild, some of the most resilient parts of us blossom at the margins — in the places we weren’t expecting, in the moments that don’t look curated or planned. Therapy can be a space to notice that quiet growth, to honour the ways you’ve survived and adapted, and to find steadiness even when life feels “on‑edge” — and to begin curating a map that’s actually yours.
